Only 3 teeth at 1 year old.

One of Logan's front top tooth is finally coming out. Logan has only 3 teeth now, which is a bit unusual. Recently, he often sleeps a longer time but has no diarrhoea or fever during teething period.

I realised it is more difficult to attend Logan when we attended wedding dinner or going out. He cannot sit still, likes to move about restlessly and gets cranky very often. Last time, we used to leave Logan in his stroller and he's fairly quiet. My sis said,"This is just the beginning." hehe..

- He will point to his ears when we asked him,"Where is your ear?".
- Whenever I sing, he will clap his hands.
- Can walk more steadily about 4 steps before "plunging" onto me.
- He will open his mouth when I ask him to.
- He slim down coz his thunder thighs disappeared.

Happy 1st Birthday to Logan!

On 6th Dec 2009, Logan celebrated his very 1st birthday with all his little cousins & families @ Beng Hiang Restaurant.

We held an interesting "fortune-telling" event whereby several items were placed in front of Logan and the item that he grabbed predicted his future. of course, no one believes much in its accuracy...it's just done out of fun.

We only provided the usual items:
*Pen: scholar/writer
*Calculator: math/science profession
*Beads : monks/pastor..something religious
*Dollar Note: wealth

Maybe we should provide more items...haha:

*Ball: athlete

After the sumptous meal, it's time to blow his Mickey Mouse cake. A havoc was created when the little ones "fought" to blow the candle. Kieren managed to blow the candle off with the help of his dad carrying him. When Kyler saw this, he immediately screamed and started crying. In the end, we had to light up the candle again for Kyler to blow.

Hair Cut @ Herb De Orient

Last sunday, we brought Logan for a hair cut @ Herb De Orient at Jurong Point. Once I placed Logan on the barber seat, he immediately started crying loudly non-stop. I dunno why?!! Maybe he was scared. No choice, I've to carry him all the way while the hair stylist cut his hair. Half-way, the other stylist wiped Logan's sticky mucus (produced after crying) with a tissue. Haha... In the end, Logan's hair was all over his and my T-shirt as if I'm the one having hair-cut. The hair cut turned out fine & it cost me $12. I bought Logan his birthday shirt @ $32.90 and belt @ $9.90. *** very leong, this month ***

Paris Ris Bungalow Chalet

Last weekend,we had a family gathering 2 nights stay @ Paris Ris Bungalow Chalet. We have BBQ, played Wii gesture games, chit-chat with wine & beer with Uncle & Aunty Yap until 2am. Uncle bought curry chicken/fish and my dad cooked fried noodle for breakfast. We also went to the BIG Giant near Ikea tampines to buy many titbits, beer & food.

I felt troublesome to climb upstairs every time just to get something. Staying in such a big house, a lift & a maid is a must.

Logan's 11 month old development:
1.) Weight 9.8kg , Height 77.5cm
2.) He can express himself better nowsaday. For eg:- he will use his hand to push away the milk bottle or spoon in sweeping motion when he is full. Babbles a lot.
3.) In several occasions, $ dollar notes seemed to attract his attention. He would lean forward and snatch them swiftly when I tried to place the money back in my purse.(见钱眼开?)
4.) His style of waving goodbye is by moving his fingers only, instead of the whole hand.
5.) He enjoys gazing at his reflection in the mirror.
6.) Recently, Ah Ma has been teaching Logan - "where is your ear?" and pulled his ear. After that, Logan will sulk and cry as if kena bullied. Da-Yi did not believe and tried again and Logan responded the same.
7.) Logan gets angry & screamed when I say "no,no" or pull his hand away from mouth. very defiant.

Cho Mi Mi

Recently, Logan changed his style of smiling. He likes to "Cho Mi Mi" (hokkien) - smile a little, shyly without opening his mouth. Ah Ma commented so "Gu Niang"! haha

He can walk slowly while holding onto the toy stroller for learning walking. Last time, he did not know how to move with it.

His dad babysit him for the whole last week since Ah Ma went to Shanghai. He seemed pretty happy hanging around with his dad all day long. When I got home, he always came running to me in his walker with excitement.

Yesterday, I went to JWII NTUC My First Skool @ Blk 671A. Full House! Principal said none of her students will graduate until May 2010. Then I went to Jurong point Centre NTUC - My First Skool. To my dismay, 100 over people on waiting list & I was told that I need to wait for 1-2 years! I think I gonna to register "Rainbow" near my mum's house already.

Look at Papa's WRONG way of using chopsticks. - It's a NO-NO.
1.) He is right-handed but hold the chopsticks with his left hand.
2.) He don't need a pair coz he never open them to hold the food. Actually, he don't need it at all!

Something about Logan

* If I place Logan on the BED in sitting position, he will grin 1st and then plunge backwards to fall onto the bed and then giggle. However, if on the floor, he will not do that becoz he knows the floor is hard.

* When I say "A for apple, B for Boy, C for cat....", he will look at the wall chart. Thus, We decided to buy another "Transportation" wall chart showing: bus,car, aeroplane,lorry,etc.

* He is always amused at a particular scene where Pocoyo is running. I tested 3-4 times by reversing the vcd.

* Logan likes to scratch people's face with his finger nails. Whenever I cut his nails, he will wriggle at 1st. But when I placed the opening of the nail cutter on his nails, he stop wriggling and let me cut. Either he's scared to cut his flesh OR he's curious to see.

Logan lost 300g after being ill with fever (avg 38.5, peak 39.4), running nose & phlegm for one week. This was the first time his fever lasted so long and we were so worried that we brought him to see doctor twice. He had no appetite for milk at all. Luckily, he still wanted to eat porridge when he's sick. Finally, he recovered on Mooncake festival.

Some of Logan's 10 months old developments:
1.) Weight: 9.3kg height:76cm (daddy measured wrongly last month - 77cm *can shrink one..haha*)
2.) Ah Ma gestured 1,2,3,4,5 slowly with her fingers to Logan, Logan will "hi-five" with her hand when she said 5.
3.) Logan still prefers "Wheel On the Bus" vcd..compare to "pocoyo","thomas",etc.
4.) Recently likes to put his toes into his mouth.
5.) Can sit up steadily for a very long time,stand while holding onto bed edge but unable to pull on something himself to stand up.
6.) Likes to play & pull my hair a lot.
7.) A bit picky in food...dislike porridge with vegetables only...must add silverfish, fish or meat then he wanna eat.
8.) Pretty lazy...don't like to crawl much.

Baby Logan naughty boy!

Last friday, when i just stepped into my mum's house, my eldest nephew, Kieren called me -"姨姨" and then complained,"Baby Logan naughty boy!". I asked him why and he showed me his leg and I understood immediately. Logan hurt Kieren's legs with his walker again. Later then I realised that Kieren also complained to my brother when he was home earlier.

Some of Logan's developments:
- Started eating his porridge in high chair 2 weeks ago. I didn't buy a high chair yet because the multi-function chair given by my sister can function as one.
- Sometimes, he will laugh when he see certain scenes in the VCD.
- Able to crawl faster in "froggy" style? Tummy still on the floor.
- He don't smile to us as much as he used to since he turned 8 months old. He only smiled a lot to new faces, especially when they played with him.
- 2 teeths popped out at his bottom gum.
- knows how to sayang papa when his dad ask him to.
- Sometimes, if I walk into the room without bothering him and then go away from him, he will cry.

- Weighs 9.5kg and is 77cm long.
- First tooth comes out half already...at his bottom left.
- During weekday @ at ah Ma's house, he eats 2 bowls of porridge (3 quarter full) and 1 serving of 200ml milk per day
- During weekday @ at HOME, he drinks 1 serving of 200ml milk at night and another one in the morning.
- When we tell Logan - "Clap your hands", he understands and clap his hands himself but no sound.
- Logan likes to chase kyler in his walker and Kyler got frustrated because the walker hurt kyler's legs and so he keeps avoiding him.

Kite festival @ west coast park

Last saturday, we went to Kite festival @ west coast park. The car park was so full that we waited for 30 mins before we got a parking slot. It wasn't easy. I immediately signalled when I saw the Ang-Mo driver was entering his car.However, I've to shift my car aside to make way for his car to go out. While I was reversing, another lady driver jumped queue with her car "headed" in the slot! My bro-in-law & Henry got down the car and argued with the lady. Luckily, the lady gave in. Phew!

We found a shaded spot under a tree and had our simple picnic.

He is crawling....FINALLY!

I just grumbled about Logan's slow progress in learning to crawl in the evening yesterday. At night, he showed me he can crawl already. Haha... Initially,I did not notice until he got hold of the toy placed a distance away from him. I was thinking whether he reached it by flipping a few times on the floor or what. To confirm, I tossed the toy away from him. To my surprise, Logan started to crawl by using both of his hands's strength to move his body! Aiyo...FINALLY. In addition, Logan will move an object from his left hand to his right hand when we are unfastening his left seat belt. He can sit up for a long time by himself but we still guard him at the back.

Ugly but Cooling!

Recently, Logan's appetite becomes bigger. Less than 4 hours and he is hungry again. Last Sat, Logan has his 2nd hair cut by his dad. He is very BOTAK now, don't really look nice coz too short but we think he likes it as he perspires less after hair cut.

Last sunday night, Kyler came to our house. Immediately, Logan's face brightened up! He kept chasing Kyler in his walker and wanted to play with him. I guess he was bored for the whole day earlier, facing only his parents at home.

Logan is 9 months old next week but he still cannot crawl. *I'm getting bored...yawn*

Yuppee! I'm 8 months old today...

Logan is 8 months old today. - weight: 9kg - height: 74cm (No change) - when bathing, he loves to splash the water continuously with his hands. - he will entertain himself by beating his thunder thighs with his hand and hear the "beating" sound. - still cannot crawl or sit up by himself. No sight of teeth. - eat more porridge nowsaday - If I keep kissing him on his face, he will retaliate by biting my mouth. - call papa and mama continuously last weekend.

A trip to "West" coast park became "East" coast park.

Last saturday evening, we headed for WEST coast park with Kyler's family. We saw the road signboard stating "west coast park" turn left but the Macdonald @ west coast park in actually on the right. So we missed it and ended up at AYE ECP all the way, no exit until Rochor road. So we changed our mind and go to EAST coast park since it's in the same direction.

It was a nice sunset view at the seaside and it's quite windy. Kyler brought his pail of containers to play with the sands. We strolled for a while with Logan and took some photos. We have had dinner @ Macdonald and went home at around 8pm. Recently, Logan likes to grab stuffs that he can reach and play with them. If you snatch the item from his hands, he will cry to get it back.

Nappy Rash, Pain Pain!

Logan has been "Lau Sai" for the past 3 days. 1 day maybe 4-5 times. Ah Ma said because of teething. His butts are swollen and very red. When we changed his diaper, he will cry until very "jiat liat". Now he knows what pain is. The last time when he got a even more serious nappy rash at 2 months old, he did not cry.

Yesterday, we watched Solar Eclipse 8:30am LIVE....on Channel U..heehee...together with ah-ma to witness this scenario once in 500 years.

Life is back to normal.

Logan is naughtier starting this whole week. He always cried and got cranky at around 9pm. Milk given, diaper changed. We do not know why. At times, he clenched his fists and bit his lips. Hmmm...maybe teething? To "shut" his mouth up, I have to carry him in standing position for 15 mins before he fall asleep. Sometimes, we have to bring him for a stroll downstairs. Ah Ma also mentioned to me that Logan started to cry for attention nowsaday. Previously, he usually cries only when he is hungry or weather too hot.

It has been a week since Logan's grandfather & Mei gu gu went back to Indonesia. Life is back to normal. These few days, Logan always made his way in his walker to grandfather's room and look around for some time. dunno why....

Logan is 7 months old.
- weighs 8.7kg and 74cm long
- Legs extend beyond the floor when sitting in walker.
- can move "forward" in his walker recently. Last time, only backward when first started.

On 5th July Sunday, Logan fall down from the bed onto a floor matress for the 1st time. When I entered the room and saw him on the floor mattress, I ask henry if he placed him on the floor mattress, he denied and answered, "I thought you are the one who place him there?" Hahaha....then we realised that Logan fell down. He continued to play by himself as if nothing happen. I checked if Logan fractured his hands or legs but seems fine.

Every time when going down the stairs in the multi-storey car park, Logan got extremely excited and screamed! He likes "going-down stairs" movement very much. Here's a video, turn on volume to hear his shriek:

BBQ outing at 三姨's house.

Yesterday, We had a family BBQ gathering at Third Aunt's house to welcome Fourth Aunt on school holiday back from Australia. It was a belated welcome party after quarantine her for 1 week...Haha. At 4:30pm, we set off with first aunt's family (my eldest sis). Kyler kept saying green, GO! becomes "GINKO" and red, Stop! while I was driving. Luckily, it was not a very hot day as it rained earlier. At around 6pm, Grandfather led his 3 grandsons for a dip in the pool. They started splashing water at each other. It was fun!***See video***

Uncle & Aunt Yap also came to the BBQ. They brought curry chicken and four presents for Kyler, Kieren, Kiefer and Logan. Like X'mas day. In the end, Kieren & Kyler fought for the remote controllable toy car. Kyler saw a Japanese girl around his age (next BBQ pit) and he "stalked" on her by following everywhere she went. We thought Kyler wanna woo her...haha. Fourth Aunt brought along her shy boyfriend,Alex to introduce to us. Both of them made apple crumble and salad which they learnt from Le Cordon Bleu. Not bad...gave them 7 out of 10. Both of them barbequed most of the food for us. Pai seh...

Everyone asked me,"Why Logan so quiet?" I replied, "Just like Henry...boring.":) Well, maybe too crowded?? or maybe the other nephews were busy playing and shouting and so it made Logan seemed quiet? My brother-in-law said that he felt like playing with Junior Henry whenever he played with Logan. Come of think of this, he felt weird. Indeed, Logan was very quiet for the rest of the day except when we were going home, he suddenly cried loudly for no reason. Everyone was surprised by his deafening cry.

Today is the 7th day quarantine for my youngest sister who came back from Melbourne. Recently, Singapore has many new H1N1 cases, mostly from Melbourne. These confirmed cases took SQ flight on the same day as my sister who was taking qantas flight. As she did not show any symptoms so far, we brought Logan back for my mum to take care. Ah Ma "heartpain" & exclaimed why Logan seemed to lose weight, saying we never take good care of him. Hee..only lost 0.3kg nia.

Recently, Logan snored very loudly at night because his nose was stuck with mucus. He cried and woke up 3-4 times for a few nights since he was not feeling well. We didn't sleep well too. *Panda eyes*. Doctor said infant's maternal antibody usually ended when they were 6 months old and they started to fall sick more easily.

Some of his developments >>
- His hair starting to grow again since last week.

- Once in a while, he really "Talk" and "Scream" very loudly but immediately kept quiet when he discovered us taking video of him.

- Got so engrossed when watching "Wheels On the bus" that he completely ignored me despite me trying to catch his attention. After 15 mins, he started to get bored.

- His dad placed him in a walker last week for him to learn walking. He can only move backward. Err...but he hasn't learn how to crawl yet??

Last sunday 7:30am, we sent 四姑 to airport as she was going back to Taiwan.
Henry's dad is recovering fast. He can walk slowly without a walking stick and can write with his hands already. Acupuncture is amazing!

Kiddy palace having 20% storewide discount. I bought a "baby einstein" flash card for Logan but after I opened it, I found it too "chim" for infant.

四姑 from Taiwan came to Singapore.

This week, Logan is being taken care by Henry's 4th sister who came from Taiwan to visit her dad for a week. Because my youngest sister just came back for holiday from Melbourne, we decided to quarantine her at my mum's house for a week. This is because Melbourne is listed as one of the highly affected areas for H1N1 flu recently. Just 2days ago, 2 people from Melbourne back to Spore also kena H1N1 flu. So we do not dare to bring Logan to my mum's house.

He seems to like 四姑 because everytime she carried him and played with him, he laughed. 四姑 is of great help, not only can she cook for henry's dad, looks after Logan, she also does laundry and fold clothes for the whole family. However, she is here for a week only. :(

Some of his developments:
- like to play with saliva by pouting his mouth and spraying out his saliva. Maybe teething soon.

- Simply love wheat-based cereals. Ah Ma said he finished cereal very fast. like a glutton. Maybe he is sick of milk.

Logan is lonely.

Yesterday, when we fetched him from work, he was extremely happy and kept giggling whenever we talked & played with him. My mother told me Logan insisted her to carry him for a long time these few days. It seemed like he needed some companionship.

Recently, we neglected Logan. Because henry's father got stroke on 27th May and my grandmother passed away on 29th May 2009. Henry has to fly to indonesia and brought his dad to Singapore to see doctor and I have to attend my grandmother's funeral. We were exhausted. However, we will try our best to spend more time with Logan like playing with him at night.

Growing Developments of Logan as at 4th June (6 months):
- Weight 8.3Kg
- Length 71cm
- Has been taking Similac 2 for 2 weeks. we intend to introduce Logan to cereal next week.
- Can flip his whole body successfully on the bed,stay for quite some time and can flip back.(Sometimes too tiring and he fall asleep in that position.)

- Likes to play with his hands since 3 months old. So no need to buy toy for him already. Here's a video clip taken on 1st June 2009.

Logan fall sick on Vesak day

Today is Vesak day, Saturday - Sunny. Initially, we planned to visit our colleague's house for cake baking session in the afternoon. However, Logan was running a fever 37.9 degree since the night before and refused to drink milk since 1030pm until the next morning. No appetite. So we brought him to see the doctor and cancel our visiting plan.

He remained inactive and his fever went up & down throughout the whole day. Thus, we stayed at home and watched rented DVD - The Mist.

Growing Developments of Logan as at 9th May 2009 (5 months):
- Weight is 7.9kg
- Length is 67cm

On Sunday morning, we went to Bai Bai at a Da-Bo-Gong temple near my mum's house for a "peace" of mind. The 3 of us fell sick one after another recently. Sigh!

A trip to Qian Hu Fish Farm.

My mum told me that Logan likes to see the fish aquarium at her house. He can watch the fishes swimming To and Fro for a very long time! Thus, We decided to bring him to Qian Hu Fish Farm.

It was a sunny day. We have our coffee break at the fish farm first before walking around. Many colourful species of fishes can be found there. When Logan first saw the fishes, he got excited by kicking hard with his legs and waving both of his hands! Here's a photo of him with the Red dragon fish worth $6888.

Logan called Pa Pa?

Logan is 5 months old, weighing 7.7 KG and is quite heavy now. He likes "bao bao" a lot but we got tired easily when carrying him. On 1st of May (Labour day), his father taught him to say "pa pa" slowly for quite some time. While looking at his father's lips movement, Logan seems to follow with his lips, trying to say something. After several attempts, he managed to say "Pa" for a few times finally! His dad got so excited upon hearing it. I told him it was just a coincidence....how can a baby call papa at 5 month old...pls lah...haha....***I must work harder in teaching Logan to call Ma Ma first...:(***

Botak Logan!

The weather is very hot recently. We bought a hair clipper @ $5.90 (UP $12.90) at carrefour to cut Logan's hair which was so long that they tickled our face whenever we carried Logan. At first, I tested the hair clipper on Henry's side burn before using it on Logan. Hee hee. It was quite fun actually.

I have decided to create a blog for my son, Logan after my colleague gave me this idea. I enjoyed reading her blogs and thought it was a good idea to keep track of my son's development too. Logan was already 7.1 kg when he was 4 months old! He is becoming a little chubby but still not very fat. Perhaps his bones are heavy. 8 out of 10 people said he looked like his dad. But somehow, I feel he resembles me in overall facial appearance. He started to make some noises - like talking to himself. Logan smiles a lot, once in a while he will chuckle when we play with him. He likes sleeping in Sarong where his dad also installed a machine for swinging the sarong automatically. At night, he sleeps on a single mattress. Usually if he drinks milk around 10:30pm, he can sleep through the whole night and wakes up at around 6-7am. After I started working on 6th April, Logan is being babysit by my mother. She massaged his fingers and teached him how to grab stuffs. Logan always has nice fragrance whenever we fetches him from work since my mother always bathed him around that time. We are addicted to his smell. Hee hee.......
